Description
Rich, creamy Candy Cane Chocolate Mousse Cups with layers of dark chocolate mousse, peppermint whipped cream, and crushed candy canes. Perfect for Christmas desserts.
Ingredients
1 ½ cups heavy cream (cold)
6 oz semi-sweet or dark chocolate (60% cacao)
2 tbsp granulated sugar
2 egg yolks
1 tsp vanilla extract
Pinch of salt
1 cup heavy cream (for topping)
2 tbsp powdered sugar
½ tsp peppermint extract
6–8 mini candy canes, crushed + extra for garnish
Instructions
1. Melt chocolate using a double boiler.
2. Whisk egg yolks, sugar, and salt, then add melted chocolate.
3. Whip cream to medium-stiff peaks.
4. Fold whipped cream into chocolate mixture.
5. Chill mousse in cups for 2 hours.
6. Whip topping cream with powdered sugar and peppermint extract.
7. Top mousse with whipped cream and crushed candy canes.
Notes
Use pasteurized egg yolks if needed.
Make ahead and chill overnight.
Add toppings before serving for best texture.
